Concrete Paving and Construction Surveyor

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Instill Safety as a top priority.
• Support a team consisting of Project Managers, Project Engineers, Superintendents, Grade Foremen, and other staff.
• Build relationships and communicate with owners, partners, & workforce.
• Read and understand construction plans and specs
• Understand and assist with project layout and survey.
• Perform various layout for structures, roadway features, concrete baskets, earthwork, and retaining walls
• Perform layout, setup of machine and total stations, as-built of paving, and running computer for Trimble PCS
• Other duties as appropriately assigned.

Experience, Education & Skills

• Experience in concrete paving
• Must have strong knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of surveying, as well as familiarity with Trimble’s suite of civil construction field equipment and software. (Trimble SCS-900, Trimble PCS, Trimble Earthworks, Trimble GCS, Trimble Business Center, ACAD Civil, Propeller/Trimble Stratus
• Strong communication skills both written and oral.
• Good attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies.
• Must have a positive attitude and possess excellent motivational skills.
• Time Management, organization, and prioritization skills are crucial.
• Must have a valid Driver’s License.

Working Conditions

• Travel – Subsequent projects will be based within the Southeast region.
• Construction Site Environment – physical ability to stand, walk, crawl, bend, reach and climb.  Exposed to high noise levels
