Job Summary

The Product Manager position will support the pivotal role of driving the future of NF Licensing & Appointments and our modernization effort.  This individual will be responsible for developing & implementing product vision, strategy, and driving future product delivery to support our long-term outcomes for licensing.  This role will partner closely with our business customers & stakeholders, technology teams, and strategic partners to create an industry leading appointment and licensing capability that supports Nationwide Financials strategic growth & future firm partnerships.

This position will be an individual contributor role but may lead future project staff and associates.

Key Responsibilities

Product Strategy

• Develop and execute product roadmaps that align with to the NF strategic objectives and business needs.
• Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities for product innovation and improvement.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., sales, strategic firm partners, compliance, technology, product development) to gather critical product needs that support the product delivery.

​Product Management

• Collaborate across Nationwide Financial stakeholders & users to define business outcomes and challenges.
• Identify and manage end-to-end capabilities and technologies resources to support product delivery supporting business outcomes & objectives.
• Analyze product usage & data insights to inform decisions and measure success against our business outcomes & objectives.
• Monitor product performance and gather feedback from users to identify areas for improvement.
• Demonstrates a deep understanding of what we do in our business, how people interact with us, what friction points exist and how we can resolve them.
• Provides coaching to other product roles / associates to foster a culture of learning, discovery, and a product mindset.

Product Delivery

• Prioritizes and maintains a holistic product backlog including new build, enhancement work and technology driven work.
• Provides critical input to software engineers and agile product delivery teams to ensure the business outcomes and goals are represented.
• Understands overall pain points and roadblocks encountered by the product team to remove barriers to ensure progress is not halted or delayed.

Skills and Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Product Manager in the financial services company
• Strong understanding of financial professional licensing and appointment processes & technologies.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and product development tools.
• Familiarity data analytics tools.
