This is a Clinical Research Assistant Center for the Motility and Functional Gastrointestinal Disorders Division of Gastroenterology and Nutrition for Dr. Samuel Nurko & Dr. Rachel Rosen.

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated clinical research assistant to join our awesome pediatric GI team! As a clinical research assistant, you will have the opportunity to be a key player in conducting cutting-edge research studies that aim to improve the lives of children with aerodigestive, functional gastrointestinal, and motility disorders. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to learn about all aspects of research, including study design and planning, patient recruitment, observation of interesting surgical procedures, and human sample processing.

This Clinical Research Assistant will be responsible for:
- Working closely with patients and their families to recruit and enroll them in studies, including screening and obtaining informed consent
- Conducting noninvasive research procedures and administering study questionnaires
- Helping to design and launch innovative research protocols, from preparing documents to seeking approvals
- Gathering and managing data from research studies, using electronic databases to keep everything organized and up to date
- Scheduling and coordinating study visits, making sure everything runs smoothly and efficiently
- Analyzing and interpreting data, and helping to prepare reports and presentations to share our findings with the wider scientific community
- Processing of collected samples using basic lab techniques
- Collaborating with other research staff and study investigators to drive our research forward and achieve our goals
To qualify, you must have:
- A bachelor's degree in a related field, such as nursing, biology, or psychology
- Experience working in a research setting, preferably in a hospital environment (preferable, not required)
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Proficiency in computer programs and databases commonly used in research, such as Microsoft Office and/or REDCap
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team!
