Position Summary:
The Associate Director of Admission for Recruitment is responsible for assisting the Director of Admission in providing leadership while carrying out significant and complex administrative responsibilities to assist the Office of Admission with meeting enrollment goals. The Associate Director directly supervises the recruitment team – including transfer and first-year admission staff both regionally and campus-based by managing the development and execution of their territory plans and plays an integral role in the development and daily implementation of enrollment strategy. The Associate Director also provides second review on admission decisions and scholarship and uses independent authority and discretion when working to resolve complex issues keeping the prospective students’ best interests in mind.Life in the Admission Office is fast-paced, but you wouldn’t have it any other way. Job Description:
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Collaborates with the Office of Admission leadership to develop and implement a comprehensive student recruitment plan for undergraduate students which includes, but is not limited to:
Student lead development through outreach (college fairs, high school and community college visits), high school and community college relations and campus visit events
Managing an inquiry and applicant pool through outreach and communications in a territory management model;
Impacting yield through personalized high-touch recruitment practices, timely and relevant communications and campus visit opportunities.
Provide leadership in building a collaborative, outcome-focused team by:
Hiring, training, and providing ongoing supervision and coaching to Admission Counselors and determining work assignments and schedules.
Communicating goals, developing and implementing initiatives and providing training and professional development for Admission staff.
Provides support to the recruitment plan by:
Manage outreach and recruitment efforts for a small geographic territory which includes travel to high schools and recruitment events.
Overseeing fall and spring travel assignments, including registration and communication
Oversees recruitment territory management and yield activities by monitoring strategies, analyzing data and trends and adjusting strategies as necessary to meet enrollment goals
Coordinating with other members of the admission staff and working closely with financial aid, advising, the registrar’s office, athletics, faculty, staff, students, alumni and other community members.
