Principal Security Architect

The Role

We are seeking a seasoned Principal Security Architect with a minimum of 10 years of experience in Cybersecurity and a proven track record of delivering secure-by-default system designs for enterprise-scale organizations in either biotech or tech. The ideal candidate will have experience overseeing and ensuring security hygiene and risk mitigation for Lab , CMC, or embedded systems environments.

Here’s What You’ll Do

• Develop and implement secure-by-default system designs that align with the organization's cybersecurity objectives and business goals.

• Oversee and ensure the security hygiene and risk mitigation for Lab and CMC environments, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.

• Collaborate with various stakeholders to understand their needs, and design and implement secure solutions that meet those needs while ensuring the security of the organization's information assets.

• Conduct regular security architecture reviews and design consultations to identify and remediate potential security risks.

• Stay abreast of the latest cybersecurity trends and technologies and leverage this knowledge to enhance the organization's cybersecurity posture.

• Develop and implement cybersecurity technical requirements and standards to ensure consistent and effective engineering practices throughout the organization.

• Provide guidance and mentorship to other members of the cybersecurity team.

• Serve as a security engineering cultural ambassador and Secure Development Lifecycle champion throughout Moderna’s engineering community.

• Additional duties as may be assigned from time to time

• Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on secure system architecture.

• Proven track record of delivering secure-by-default system designs for enterprise-scale organizations in either biotech or tech.

• Experience overseeing and ensuring security hygiene and risk mitigation for control systems or embedded environments.

Under Washington State law, Moderna is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the salary range for the jobs covered by this description.  Base compensation for these positions in Washington State range from $158,000 to $284,500​. Actual salary determinations will take into account factors such as work location, prior education and experience, job-related knowledge, and demonstrated skills.  Compensation decisions are made on the facts and circumstances of each case.
