The Indirect Sr Manager will oversee the IPC BPO contract and PtP process for Medtronic. The Sr. Manager will provide strategic direction and input to the future model; managing a pipeline of proactive projects to improve, simplify and streamline the procure-to-pay process. Focus on data, analytics, processing time, and best-in-class solutions is required. The IPC oversees the creation of global req to PO indirect transactions. Included under the IPC are workstreams dedicated to Req to PO, Help Desk provided in 14 languages, P Card Reconciliation, Vendor Add & Change, and PO Mismatch for Indirect Exception processing. The IPC supports the globe.

This position is an exciting opportunity to work with Medtronic's Diabetes business. Medtronic has announced its intention to separate the Diabetes division to promote future growth and innovation within the business and reallocate investments and resources across Medtronic, subject to applicable information and consultation requirements. This separation provides our team with a bold opportunity to unleash our potential, enabling us to operate with greater speed and agility. As a separate entity, we anticipate leveraging increased investments to drive meaningful innovation and enhance our impact on patient care.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Provides project management and sourcing expertise to cross-functional, cross-divisional commodity teams.
  • Negotiates and contractual agreements, establishes and holds supplier accountable to supplier SLA agreements.
  • PtP process alignment, escalation for AP/vendor on discrepancies. Facilitates these teams in the development and execution of long-term strategies that will optimize Medtronic's position in terms of quality, cycle/response time, technology, risk, and total cost.
  • Mitigates risk, leverages technology and purchase power, improves processes and systems, and reduces overall cost of ownership and acquisition.
  • Drive YoY performance and cost improvements through negotiations and projects.
  • Indirect supply management responsibilities for categories outside of BPO based on need of the business. 
  • Perform RFQs, supplier selection and supplier development as necessary.
  • Turns the department strategy into a commercial reality by developing, communicating and implementing business plans to achieve business results by partnering with the supplier.
  • Receives assignments in objective oriented terms; has latitude to reinterpret objectives.
  • Develops new objectives, new operating policies, products, processes and standards in support of the job function strategy.
  • Problems and issues faced are complex, difficult and undefined, and require detailed information gathering, analysis and investigation to understand the problem.
  • Communicates with internal and external customers and vendors concerning ongoing operations, programs or processes.
  • Leads key projects within Indirect Sourcing to facilitate continuous improvement and/or problem solving.  
  • Work across the supplier and internal teams to achieve the outcomes.

Required Qualifications:  

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and a minimum of 7 years relevant experience with 5+ years of managerial experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years prior relevant experience with 5+ years of managerial experience
