Position overview

Are you interested in making a difference in the world leading industrial coating resins company? We are looking for an experienced and solution-oriented colleague to join our team. As a Production Supervisor you'll be responsible for day to day management of production activities and all hourly operations team members. You'll also be responsible for improving and implementing safety and environmental practices in the assigned unit.

Responsibilities

•    Responsible for leading, developing, motivating and providing day to day direction to shift (Hourly) personnel. Provide guidance to operations and maintenance workforce to achieve production and quality objectives.
•    Coordinate production schedule with Supply Chain to ensure timely manufacturing of products. Communicate and help drive maintenance priorities to support production timing needs.
•  Establish and implement expectations of safe work habits and environmental compliance by the production personnel. Champion for safety and environmental performance.
•    Assist the PM in the verification of operations training procedures and testing. Drive accountability on mile stones of training and provide feedback to PM. Participate in training reviews for new hires.
•    Help to coordinate and verify training of the shift personnel. 
•    Provide back-up and assistance to the Production Manager and in his absence assumes full production responsibilities. This includes cross training in operational critical functions for essential duties to support continued operations during a coverage scenario. Ensure PM can fully back fill in the absence of the Production Supervisor.
•    Directly oversee the day to day permit writer activities. Including but not limited to ensuring the LOTO system is operating to the required Safe, Efficient, and accurate standards. Collect, document and present critical details concerning the workflow of the permit writer role to ensure efficiency and accuracy within the process. The permit writer will be the Production Supervisors direct report.
•    Coordinate with Maintenance Manager, PM, Planner and Production Engineer to ensure the best path forward for production efficiency and timely repairs. This includes helping to generate and oversee the operations forward plans on a daily basis. Drives accountability to personnel when required regarding operational forward plans.
•    Partner with supply chain/PM for inventory accuracy within the manufacturing plan. Ensure equipment & ancillary needs are onsite and available. I.e. examples include but not limited to Glycol, Oil, Jars, Drums etc. 
•    Requisition manufacturing supplies as needed.
•    Participate in the selection of personnel for hire into vacant positions. This includes reviewing of resumes and helping pre interview selections.
•    When required participate in the timely reporting and investigation of incidents in the unit including the implementation of improvements to prevent reoccurrence. This may include being involved in PHA’s, LOPA’s and incident investigations.
•    Responsible for maintaining or exceeding the high quality standards established across the product line. Develop effective working relationships across a broad range of functional groups.
•    Provide feedback to the group to help control costs at budgeted levels.
•    Collect, document and present critical details as it pertains to the site operations functions.
