About the Job:

The YUM! Brands Global Safety Manager plays a critical leadership role in protecting team members, guests, and brand reputation by driving a culture of safety across all U.S.-based operations. This individual partners directly with brand leadership, cross-functional executives, and regulatory agencies to embed safety into the operational fabric of the organization.

Acting as both a strategic advisor and operational enabler, the Global Safety Manager supports enterprise-wide and brand-specific safety programs across KFC, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, Habit Burger & Grill, and Saucy. The role requires expertise in regulatory compliance, stakeholder engagement, and risk-based decision-making, ideally within a Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) or multi-unit retail environment.

Salary Range: 

$122,100 - $143,600 annually + bonus eligibility. This is the expected salary range for this position. Ultimately, in determining pay, we'll consider the successful candidate’s location, experience, and other job-related factors.

Responsibilities: 

  • Lead the development and execution of enterprise-level safety strategies, partnering with brand Presidents, Operations, Legal, HR, and Risk Management leaders to reduce injury frequency, severity, and preventable incidents.
  • Co-create brand-aligned safety training, hazard mitigation strategies, and SOPs in partnership with brand COOs, Safety/Risk management Directors, HR, Legal, and Operations Leaders, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and franchisee expectations.
  • Serve as the enterprise liaison to federal and state OSHA regulators. Responsible for regulatory audit preparedness, compliance strategy, and resolution of citations. Proactively monitor changing regulatory landscapes and advise senior leadership accordingly.
  • Analyze injury, incident, and near-miss trends across 1,000+ equity restaurants. Translate insights into actionable, data-driven recommendations and present quarterly safety and claims performance updates to brand Presidents, COOs, Legal, HR, and the Asset Protection leadership team.
  • Partner with Operations, Legal, Risk management, People & Culture, HR, Communications, and Franchise Operations to align and elevate safety efforts. Lead knowledge-sharing initiatives to embed best practices and drive consistency across all brands and functions.
  • Collaborate with Legal and Risk management to investigate high-severity employee and customer incidents (~900+ annually). Lead root cause analysis and corrective action planning to mitigate exposure and reduce long-term claim costs and reputational impact.
  • Advise franchisee safety representatives on risk mitigation approaches, especially in markets with elevated exposure or regulatory oversight.
  • Prepare and deliver briefings, dashboards, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership, including brand Presidents, Operations, Legal, and People & Culture, HR, to influence decision-making and resource allocation.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 7 years in a senior safety, risk, or compliance role within QSR, hospitality, logistics, or multi-unit retail.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Risk Management, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline
  • Certified or Associate Safety Professional, (CSP or ASP), preferred
  • Demonstrated success engaging with OSHA and other U.S. regulatory bodies, including audit response, citation management, and corrective action oversight
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders, drive cross-functional collaboration, and lead change across matrixed organiz
