We are looking for a Senior Learning & Development Manager (Manufacturing) who will be based in Oakbrook (IL), this role will be key to deliver our North America Winning Culture Strategy being accountable for leading regional learning programs that address specific Manufacturing needs.

 

At the regional level, this job will have to identify and access the learning needs of the Manufacturing organization through job analysis, career paths, and consultation with Subject Matter Experts, Plant Training Leads and Department Managers, with primary focus on OJT (equipment operation, process knowledge, quality assurance, safety procedures, troubleshooting), compliance training and new technologies collaborating closely with Safety, Quality and Continuous Improvement.

 

How You’ll Add Value:

  • Direct all training and development activities to ensure they are conducted efficiently, cost-effectively, and in accordance with the organization's policies and standards.  
  • Analyze and identify the training and development needs of manufacturing organization.
  • Develop an overall training plan/strategy to meet the current and planned requirements of the organization.  
  • Manage the LMS across the region, ensuring the system is being used correctly.
  • Develop, deliver, and evaluate training programs and curriculum so skills and performance of employees meet the organization’s requirements.  
  • Liaise with Regional and site leaders to develop and implement training courses and programs that are appropriate for their business needs and consistent with the overall training strategy.  
  • Support efforts and oversee the deployment of standardized onboarding for leadership, operations, and technical roles in alignment with business priorities and Global strategies. 
  • Element Owner for Capability Development.
  • Through the plant training structure conduct a training needs analysis and identify training gaps across the North America manufacturing sites.  
  • Drive the adoption of a consistent and standard training/learning methodology for training within the region.  
  • Standardize training activities across the North America manufacturing sites ensuring that training resources are not duplicating efforts (developing the same content).  
  • Lead the change management process to ensure consistent adoption of training courses, processes and tools across the region. 
  • Select and manage ongoing relationships with external consultants and training providers.  
  • Stay current on developments and innovations in training and education in the industry sector so the organization’s training activities remain relevant.  
  • Provide/collect data to outline training ROI details.

 

About You: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Learning and Development, Business, or related field  
  • 5+ years’ leadership experience developing and implementing training and learning strategies in a manufacturing, industrial, or related environment at the regional level. 
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills.  
  • Self-starter with ability to multitask and prioritize while meeting deadlines. 
  • Confidence and ability to interact with various people across departmental lines to achieve goals.   
  • Strong verbal, written, communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.  
  • Knowledge of Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and other programs required.    
  • Ability to travel up to 40% within North America.
