Description
A&K Railroad Materials is a leading supplier of new and used railroad track materials. A&K has sales offices and a network of storage and distribution facilities strategically located throughout the United States. Together, these offices and inventory locations maintain an extensive and comprehensive inventory of new, relay, and reconditioned rail and track materials across North America. Responsibilities
- Receiving and coding of vendor invoices.
- Routing vendor invoices for approvals and matching invoices against purchase orders.
- Processing timely and accurate vendor payments.
- Requesting and reviewing vendor statements.
- Reconciling accounts to ensure amounts paid reflect goods and services received.
- Answering queries from suppliers and other business departments about invoices and payments.
- Assist in a variety of monthly-end close activities for multiple legal entities.
Requirements
- Associates degree in an accredited Accounting or Finance program or one to two years of accounts payable experience.
- Bachelor's degree in an accredited Accounting or Finance program preferred.
- Moderate proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
- Accounting software experience, such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Paymode X.
- Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with others.
- Willingness to cross-train and assist other teams and departments to achieve overall business objectives.
- Ability to accurately enter, retrieve, analyze, recognize discrepancies, organize, and report accounts payable data.
- Proficient ability to manage disagreements through consensus building, relationship management, and the formation and presentation of logical, data-based arguments.
- Ability to communicate effectively using written and verbal English with management and co-workers.
- Ability to comprehend and adhere to organizational policies, including those related to scheduling. and attendance, confidentiality, conflict of interest, and honesty and ethical conduct.
- Ability to work under demanding time constraints and goals.
