About the role

Description

The University of Washington’s Department of Child, Family, and Population Health Nursing invites applications from qualified applicants for multiple instructional positions that may be needed at various points throughout the 2026-27 academic year (Sept 16-Jun 15). The successful candidate would be appointed as Clinical Instructor or Teaching Associate, depending upon the course setting (clinical or classroom)course level, and applicant qualifications. Both titles reflect non-tenure eligible, non-voting eligible faculty appointments. Based on programmatic need, appointments may be made on a quarterly or annual basis We anticipate instructional need in the following areas:

  • Pediatrics
  • Nurse Midwifery
  • Obstetrics
  • Population Health Nursing
  • Family Nurse Practitioner
  • Community Health Nursing

 

General duties and responsibilities

  • Effectively preparing and delivering rigorous course content that meets the academic standards befitting the University of Washington and stated learning goals for the assigned course(s)
  • Ensuring that course materials and requirements are effectively communicated to students 
  • Using appropriate and effective teaching strategies, technologies, and student evaluations methods 
  • Cultivating an instructional environment that provides students with the opportunity to receive and share feedback on a continuing basis, including through regular office hours 
  • Ensuring course grades are submitted accurately and in a timely manner 

 

Compensation 

The successful candidate will have an FTE commensurate with the assigned workload. The full-time base salary range for this position will be $8500 - $9750 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This full-time monthly rate would be prorated based on assigned FTE.
