Job Summary/Basic Function:
The Music and Music Education Program is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Program Assistant to support the daily operations of the department.
This position supports program operations throughout the fall, spring, and summer terms.
During the Spring and Fall semesters, the Program Assistant will maintain regular communication with students. assist with student registration. The incumbent will be responsible for updating program materials, developing, distributing, and analyzing student questionnaires that evaluate the previous summer’s program and escalating any issues or concerns to the Program Director.
During the summer semesters, the Program Assistant will serve as a primary resource for incoming and continuing students. In June the incumbent responds to student inquiries regarding housing, course registration, and program activities.
In July, while hybrid students are on campus, the Program Assistant will coordinate a variety of social activities, including concerts, lunches, trips to museums, and sporting events. The incumbent also provides ongoing support and assistance to more than 50 students to help ensure a positive and successful program experience.
CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Maintain regular communication with continuing students throughout the academic year and serve as a primary point of contact for program-related inquiries.
● Monitor student feedback and escalate concerns or issues to the Program Director as appropriate.
● Assist incoming students with program onboarding, including registration, orientation, and access to program resources.
● Update and maintain program materials, handbooks, and informational resources to ensure accuracy and relevance.
● Respond to student inquiries regarding housing, course registration, program requirements, and campus resources.
● Coordinate and facilitate student engagement activities, including cultural events, social gatherings, educational excursions, and recreational outings.
● Provide administrative and operational support to ensure the smooth delivery of program activities and services.
● Collaborate with program staff, faculty, and campus partners to support program objectives and enhance the student experience.
● Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s Degree
● Three years of relevant experience
● Familiarity with Qualtrics software.
● Good Personal/Social skills
● Good communication skills
● Familiarity with TC registration process.
● Familiarity with Summer Hybrid Music MA degree requirements.
● Familiarity with summer social options in NYC.
Salary Range:
18.00/hr
