What you will do

Role Overview:

The Associate Director of Income Tax will manage the preparation of federal and state corporate and partnerhsip income tax returns and forecasting for financial planning. You will also support the company’s efforts to obtain renewable energy tax credits. 

Main responsibilities:

  • Manage the federal and state corporate and partnership income tax return work papers including depreciation computations, special allocations under Internal Revenue Code Sections 704 and 754, tax basis balance sheets, and capital accounts 
  • Work closely with Portfolio Management to update the financial models for third party investors 
  • Provide due diligence support to M&A and portfolio management departments including analysis of complex excel financial models and review of cost segregation studies 
  • Mentor tax manager, associate and analysts 
  • Research federal and state corporate and partnership income tax issues and identify ways to optimize tax obligations  
  • Perform other tasks as needed for federal and state corporate and partnership income tax planning and compliance  
  • Assist with management of tax benefits on tax basis more than $10 billion  
  • Additional duties as required

What are we looking for

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in Accounting 
  • 8 – 10+ years of experience including 5+ years in federal and state income tax compliance 
  • CPA or Attorney  
  • Strong technical knowledge of federal and state corporate and partnership taxation  
  • In depth understanding of accounting principles 
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills (knowledge of complex functions and formulas)

0 – 10%

  • Energy industry experience preferred 

Physical demands & working conditions:

  • Sitting/Standing/Flexibility: Ability to stand and sit for 8 or more hours when in an office environment 
  • Walking: Ability to walk .5 to 2 miles per day, including across unpaved and rough surfaces when on project sites. 
  • Speech/Reading: Ability to speak, read, and write English proficiently and deliver a variety of instructions furnished in written verbal, diagram, or scheduled form 
  • Lifting: Ability to lift items weighing up to 10 pounds 
  • Vision/Hearing: Ability to understand a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form
