About the role

Description

POSITION OVERVIEW:

As Customer Equipment Trainer, you'll be responsible for driving training revenue through excellent delivery of forklift operator safety training at both company and customer locations across Northern California. You'll work closely with the training coordinator to ensure the best possible customer experience is given in handling customer calls, email inquiries, payment coordination and certificate completion. Most importantly, you'll be responsible for ensuring all training materials are OSHA compliant, up to date, and professionally presented, and that all trainers are appropriately trained. Travel will typically be done on the same day as the training delivery and may require an overnight stay on occasion.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Customer Training

  • Prepare and deliver operator safety training in a variety of environments and for various equipment types. 
  • Validate skills during training sessions, offering feedback for continued practice and development.
  • Provide standardized materials to enable sustainment of skills learned.
  • Always deliver training with the TOTAL culture and training department mission in mind.
  • Maintain current knowledge and ensure OSHA requirements are complied with in all training.


Administration

  • Respond quickly and professionally to training inquiries.
  • Close out and send the student roster to the Training Coordinator within 24 hours of class end time.
  • Develop new training materials as needed to continually evolve the professionalism of our programs.
  • Work collaboratively with the broader training and sales teams in support of providing great customer experience.



Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

Required

  • Bi-lingual Spanish – This is a requirement for this specific role.
  • High School Graduate
  • 5+ years of experience driving material handling or industrial equipment.
  • 5+ years in Customer Service and/or Sales.
  • 3+ years supervisory experience.
  • OSHA Certified
  • Qualified DMV, background check and drug screening.
  • Experience delivering training materials or making professional presentations.
  • Professional, kind, and positive verbal communication style.
  • Ability to multi-task and communicate effectively when under pressure.
  • Impeccable commitment and proven track record of operating in compliance with safety standards. 
  • Material Handling equipment safety certifications
  • Equipment Train-the-Trainer certifications
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office 365.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions in English.
  • Demonstrated ability to act in a way that is consistent with our values.


PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:

  • Required to move frequently, stand, walk, climb, bend, kneel, turn, climb, push, pull, squat, and/or remain balanced for extended lengths of time throughout their scheduled working period.
  • Required to reach above and below the shoulder, use repetitive hand, wrist, and forearm rotation along with fine manipulation with right and left hands.
  • Required to use their hands on a routine and daily basis to grasp, reach, touch, handle, feel, and/or otherwise operate required tools or controls.
  • Required to twist at the neck and waist frequently.
  • Operation of foot controls or repetitive foot movement required for driving equipment including forklift and motor vehicle, including long driving periods to locations across Northern California.
  • Will use tablet as a telephone, messenger, and work tool, so expect to wear a Bluetooth device and use fine hand movements to enter information into the tablet daily.
  • Must be able to move about to the work area in a variety of different temperatures and environments and work safely in all weather conditions.
  • Hear with or without correction to be able to interpret and receive information and directions. 
  • Communicate, verbally and in written form, regularly to describe and explain detailed, important, and accurate instructions internally and directly with customers.??  
  • Occasionally stoop, kneel, or crouch. 
  • The associate must be able to work safely at heights using applicable ladders and elevated working platforms.
  • Lift 25 pounds without assistance and 50 pounds with assistance from others or utilizing a lifting device.
  • Noise level fluctuates based
