About the role

Essential Functions:

Team Leadership & Development

  • Directly manage, coach, and develop two Supply Chain Analysts, providing regular performance feedback, goal-setting, and career development planning.
  • Provide functional leadership and mentorship to Plant Materials Managers (dotted-line reporting), driving consistency in processes and best practices across facilities.
  • Support Plant Managers in coaching and developing plant materials personnel, helping build the next generation of supply chain talent.
  • Lead regular team meetings and one-on-ones to align priorities, share best practices, and address performance gaps across the region.
  • Identify training needs and support succession planning for key supply chain roles.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture across the regional supply chain team.

Cost Optimization, Warehousing & Logistics

  • Partner with Plant Materials Managers to identify and lead cost-savings opportunities in warehousing and logistics.
  • Optimize inbound and outbound inter-company shipments, balancing customer expectations with freight budget goals.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain best practices across planning, inventory control, warehousing, shipping, receiving, and stores.

Inventory Management & Control

  • Oversee inventory across finished goods, raw materials, components, and stores, ensuring inventory budgets are achieved.
  • Monitor cycle count activities to ensure standard procedures are followed and inventory accuracy is maintained.
  • Coordinate and oversee the physical inventory process across plants.
  • Set clear individual and team KPIs, creating a culture of ownership and accountability.

Cross-Functional & Strategic Planning

  • Work closely with New Model Introduction (NMI) and Engineering teams to anticipate and communicate inventory shifts driven by customer/engineering changes, product launches, seasonal fluctuations, or product transfers.
  • Lead and co-lead continuous improvement initiatives that make the supply chain function faster, leaner, and more resilient.
  • Tackle complex, high-stakes situations by applying specialized knowledge and sound judgment based on data analysis.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to recommend process improvements, negotiating with external parties when necessary.

Supplier Relations, Risk & Compliance

  • Build strong working relationships with suppliers through regular calls and communications on performance metrics and issue resolution.
  • Assess business risk appropriately, driving compliance through transparent escalation, management, and reporting of control issues — and holding others accountable to these standards.
  • Uphold NSG/Pilkington's Standards of Business Conduct, Values, and Principles in everything you do.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager.

Scope/Dimensions:

  •  Interact with executive leadership team regularly
  •  Manage operations for the supply chain department at 3 or more manufacturing facilities
  •  Responsible for inventory budgets of $50m

Working Conditions

  • This position involves a combination of traditional office work and time spent on the manufacturing floor.
  • While in plant environments, the role requires exposure to a standard manufacturing setting, which is not climate-controlled and may involve variable temperatures, noise, dust, and typical plant conditions.
  • Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is required while on the plant floor, per site safety standards.

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive supply chain experience, including experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of 1–3 years in a leadership or supervisory role, with direct experience managing or mentoring supply chain/materials staff.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting or overseeing multiple manufacturing sites or facilities.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong written and verbal skills.
