Anticipated Schedule: M-Thu 10-hour days

Position Overview:
The Adult & Youth Grief Specialist plays a crucial role in providing compassionate support services to address bereavement needs within the client community, following Chaplaincy Health Care policies. Guided by the Director and Supervisor, the Specialist takes a detail-oriented approach, utilizing a systems-based theory perspective to understand the interconnectedness of children, families, groups, organizations, and communities. The responsibilities include program management and ensuring families receive appropriate bereavement support and group placement. Close collaboration with various teams is vital, as the Specialist assists in recruiting, training, and supporting volunteers who adhere to the Cork's Place model, while also providing valuable input to volunteers and staff engaged in grief processing for children, ensuring adherence to the Cork's Place model.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Associate degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, credentialed teaching, or equivalent education. Education in process and experience considered.
2. Experience working with diverse populations, including individuals from different cultural ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
3. Demonstrated knowledge of grief counseling theories, techniques, and interventions.
4. Ability to establish rapport and build trusting relationships with clients of all ages, including youth and adults.
5. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
6. This position is designated as safety-sensitive and will require pre-employment drug testing, which includes cannabis testing in WA State.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, credentialed teaching or equivalent education, experience considered.
2. Bilingual Certification: ability to fluently speak, read and write in both English and Spanish.

Compensation
Pay Range: $16.83 - $26.09
Note regarding the listed pay range:
At Tri-Cities Chaplaincy, we carefully establish salary ranges for our positions by taking various factors into account, including education, certifications, knowledge, skills, experience, and market conditions. These ranges are tailored to match the diverse programs and services we offer. Our goal is to ensure fair compensation for candidates based on these factors while maintaining internal peer equity.

Benefits
· Mileage Reimbursement: $0.67 per mile, for eligible positions.
· Vacation: Accrual of hours each pay period based on hours worked.
· Wellness Days: After the 90-day introductory period, eligible employees can convert up to two sick days into wellness days.
· Annual "Yay Day": Full-time employees receive 1 paid day off every January to volunteer in the community.
· Bereavement Leave: 3 days of bereavement leave after the introductory period for the loss of an immediate family member, household pet, or service animal.
· Sick Time: Earned on an accrual basis, with a 90-day hold for new hires
