Responsibilities
The Patient Service Representative is responsible for:
- Interviews the patient or his/her representative to obtain identifying and basic demographics to prep for upcoming visits
- Schedules patients in their clinic and assists with scheduling them in others
- Verifies insurance coverage, collects co-pays and prior balances from patients, reconciles and prepares deposits, and troubleshoots billing issues
- Greets and checks in patients
- Handles all incoming phone calls and routes to appropriate staff or initiates messages
- Coordinates clinic business processes such as supply ordering, sales calls, record release, fax and mail processing.
Qualifications
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
1. Previous experience in a medical setting, preferred.
2. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
3. High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
4. Customer Service experience preferred.
