Warehouse Assistant Manager

ABOUT THE ROLE

Location: NYC Warehouse (Soho)

Status: Full-Time

Compensation: $60,000-70,000

Position Summary: The Warehouse Assistant Manager will partner with the Warehouse General Manager to maintain a highly efficient warehouse. Primarily responsible for the daily operations of the warehouse, the Assistant Manager will focus on leading by example and effective delegation. They will maintain a focus on the overall team’s performance by continuously coaching and developing their direct reports. The Assistant Manager will have the ability to troubleshoot issues and will be a creative, solution drive team leader. From shipment processing, inventory management, and order fulfillment, the Assistant Manager will remain a subject matter expert on all aspects of the warehouse. The Assistant Manager will address any issues and elevate any matters to the General Manager and/or HQ business partners, when appropriate. The Assistant Manager can provide support across all functionalities of the business, as assigned by the General Manager or as the business requires.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Complete administrative responsibilities when directed by the Warehouse General Manager.

• Maintains consistent and accurate communication with the General Manager and HQ business partners.

• Oversee the daily operations of the warehouse, under the broader direction of the General Manager.

• Accurately record daily deliveries and shipments to reconcile inventory.

• Efficiently prepare for upcoming deliveries using any available resources.

• Maximize the warehouse space for storage of product and warehouse/store supplies.

• Remain highly knowledgeable on all aspects of the warehouse, including but not limited to delivery schedules, shipment processing, inventory management, and order fulfillment.

• Provide coaching and development to a team of warehouse supervisors and associates.

• Communicate daily goals and priorities to the warehouse team.

• Act as the warehouse liaison for any HQ and/or store business partners.

• Assist with housekeeping responsibilities including, but not limited to, dusting, sweeping, collection of trash, and other tasks traditionally associated with standard retail operations.

Special Projects/Tasks:

• Assist with Inventory counts as business needs require.

• Lead any visits and/or meetings in the absence of the General Manager

Availability:

• Open & flexible availability, including but not limited to evenings, overnights, and weekends as well as Holidays.

Experience:

• 4+ years of leadership experience in a customer-facing role.

• 4+ years of retail/apparel operations experience.

• 3+ years leading a team of Supervisors.

Skills/Abilities:

• Thorough communication and comfortable delegating tasks and responsibilities.

• Ability to efficiently multitask and manage multiple projects at once.

• Comprehensive computer skills, including but not limited to Microsoft Suite and Google Suite.

• Ability to perform business math and simple business accounting.

• Ability to lift and move 25lbs.

• Ability to perform standard tasks that are related to retail operations including but not limited to, bending, twisting, and climbing ladders/step stools.

• Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time.
