Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated, technically skilled Field Service Engineer to support installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and service of mission-critical power distribution equipment in data center environments.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, working independently in the field, and being part of a collaborative team. You will represent the company onsite, ensuring systems perform reliably while building strong customer relationships through professionalism and follow-through.

Key Responsibilities

Installation & Commissioning

  • Install and support startup of power distribution systems in data centers
  • Support commissioning activities including system verification and functional testing
  • Configure and troubleshoot HMIs and control interfaces
  • Ensure compliance with electrical codes and safety standards
  • Troubleshooting & Repair

  • Diagnose and repair issues involving 3-phase power systems, transformers, high-voltage components, and switchgear/distribution equipment
  • Interpret electrical schematics and one-line diagrams
  • Perform systematic root-cause troubleshooting in live infrastructure environments
  • Customer & Team Support

  • Serve as the primary technical contact onsite
  • Partner with engineering and internal teams to resolve issues effectively
  • Train operators and maintenance personnel
  • Communicate clearly regarding system status and next steps through verbal and written reports
  • Documentation & Continuous Improvement

  • Complete service reports with technical accuracy and clarity
  • Identify recurring issues and provide feedback for product and process improvements
  • Track parts usage, labor hours, and service activities in the system of record
  • Support development of service procedures and training materials
  • Qualifications

    Required

  • 3–7+ years of experience in field service, electrical service, or similar roles
  • Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
  • Working knowledge of 24V, 120V, 480V systems; basic PLC troubleshooting; fuses, breakers, transformers
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
  • Willingness to travel 75%+ (including occasional short-notice travel)
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background check and drug screening
  • Strong documentation skills and attention to detail
  • Preferred

  • Experience with data center power infrastructure
  • Familiarity with switchgear, UPS systems, PDUs, or related equipment
  • Commissioning support experience
  • OSHA or formal safety training
