Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated, technically skilled Field Service Engineer to support installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and service of mission-critical power distribution equipment in data center environments.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, working independently in the field, and being part of a collaborative team. You will represent the company onsite, ensuring systems perform reliably while building strong customer relationships through professionalism and follow-through.
Key Responsibilities
Installation & Commissioning
Install and support startup of power distribution systems in data centers
Support commissioning activities including system verification and functional testing
Configure and troubleshoot HMIs and control interfaces
Ensure compliance with electrical codes and safety standards
Troubleshooting & Repair
Diagnose and repair issues involving 3-phase power systems, transformers, high-voltage components, and switchgear/distribution equipment
Interpret electrical schematics and one-line diagrams
Perform systematic root-cause troubleshooting in live infrastructure environments
Customer & Team Support
Serve as the primary technical contact onsite
Partner with engineering and internal teams to resolve issues effectively
Train operators and maintenance personnel
Communicate clearly regarding system status and next steps through verbal and written reports
Documentation & Continuous Improvement
Complete service reports with technical accuracy and clarity
Identify recurring issues and provide feedback for product and process improvements
Track parts usage, labor hours, and service activities in the system of record
Support development of service procedures and training materials
Qualifications
Required
3–7+ years of experience in field service, electrical service, or similar roles
Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
Working knowledge of 24V, 120V, 480V systems; basic PLC troubleshooting; fuses, breakers, transformers
Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
Willingness to travel 75%+ (including occasional short-notice travel)
Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background check and drug screening
Strong documentation skills and attention to detail
Preferred
Experience with data center power infrastructure
Familiarity with switchgear, UPS systems, PDUs, or related equipment
Commissioning support experience
OSHA or formal safety training
