This is our vision. We are looking for enthusiastic colleagues that are not only fluent in technology, but also share our vision of a world running on 100% renewable energy. ABOUT THE JOBThe software Strategy Manager is responsible for setting software strategies, managing goals and performance, and driving operations and business of System Business Department which pursues leading company of software for monitoring and optimizing the PV & ESS system. The position will be developing long-term software strategy along with VPP (Virtual Power Plant), V2X (Vehicle to Everything), software platform integration, and data solution optimization to be successful in the distributed renewable energy industry. Also, this position will potentially develop new business models and support M&A or investment execution. This role is highly cross-functional and requires project management leadership across Q CELLS.

Responsibilities

  • Research and analyze software market trends and customers’ needs to capture the business opportunity, especially for the US, EU, AUS, and Japanese markets. 
  • Develop the short-term/long-term software platform strategy along with the software roadmap to fulfill the business requirements of Q CELLS, such EMS (Energy Management System), VPP, V2X, etc.
  • Design and upgrade the software business model to capitalize on the technology in DE (Distributed Energy) industry.
  • Support to establish and execute V2X business strategy encompassing Hardware (H/W) and Software (S/W) solutions of Q CELLS
  • Develop partnering strategies and/or M&A opportunities to create synergy with QCELLS’ energy products.
  • Manage the software business P&L to identify the value of software contribution.
  • Work with cross-functional stakeholders across the organization to surface requirements and dependencies.
  • Closely work with S/W engineers and data scientists to strengthen the software strategy and to execute it.
  • All other duties as assigned by the Senior Vice President of System Operation Division or upper management to support the strategic business decision. 

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in business or engineering or equivalent in working experience demonstrating evidence of excellence.
  • 5+ years of experience in strategic planning, business development or relevant career.
  • 2+ years of software development or data science experience or ability to understand the basic tech languages.
  • Corporate strategy, strategy planning, project/product management or business development experiences
  • Capability to identify core business issues prioritized and to drive the change management for the issue resolution.
  • Proven problem-solving and structuring skills.
  • Data analysis-related experience.
  • Strong verbal / written communication including slide-writing skills.
  • Strong research skills

Preferred Experience & Skills

  • Renewable Energy, Solar, EV or Battery industry experiences preferred. (Knowledge of energy storage applications or renewable energy)
  • Software or Data Science relevant industry experience preferred.
  • MBA or tech-relevant master's degree preferred.
  • Executing Investment, M&A, PMI and Joint Venture experience are a plus.
  • Management consulting experience or relevant experience is a plus.
  • Advanced level of data skills and understanding to communicate well with data scientists.
  • Korean speaking and writing capability required.
