Job Summary:

Supermicro has an exciting opportunity for an Sr. Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to join our dynamic and fast-paced work environment. The role of the EHS Manager is to assist the Company with its mission to operate a loss-free, and continuously improving work environment, by instituting Health & Safety policies, Health & Safety training and awareness programs, and Health & Safety consultation, while developing program metrics and supporting investigations. This position will be based on our headquarters located in San Jose, CA, and lead Health & Safety efforts in all sites globally.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Includes the following essential duties and responsibilities (other duties may also be assigned):
• Assure that Supermicro has the appropriate Environmental, Health & Safety policies and procedures in place in line with risk exposures and regulatory requirements.
• Build company culture and norms that values health, safety and compliance, and effectively communicate expectations to staff. Oversee health & safety related trainings for the Company.
• Develop and institute practices for identifying and managing hazardous materials, equipment and processes in line with Health & Safety policies and procedures.
• Use site and insurance data to evaluate liability, company financial impact, and strategies for accident prevention.
• Supervise work of Health & Safety Leads at all sites globally to assure standards, practices and norms are consistent and align with local regulation.
• Work directly with HR, Facilities, Sustainability, Department Managers, and ISO Team to coordinate Health & Safety, including inspections, corrective actions, and developing relevant accident prevention materials.
• Review safety work procedure suggestions from supervisors and managers, and when required submit suggestions for next level management review.
• Lead company-wide Safety Committee, and participate in Operations Meetings and Compliance Committee to present safety-related matters or assist managers with safety issues.
• Assure Health & Safety maintains consistency with ISO9001 Quality Management System, including document approval, updating and controlling according to standards. Lead Company’s adoption of ISO 45001.
• Assure Health & Safety certifications are current at all sites, and track all health and safety requirements through master regulatory list.
• Lead or oversee Health & Safety investigations, and conduct and train on root-cause analysis and plan remediation.
• Serve as point person with insurance carrier and brokers on matters of Health & Safety.
• Serve as resource for worker compensation investigations performed by HR staff.
• Coordinate Health & Safety with broader company Sustainably goals, including aligning data with company Sustainability metrics.
• Coordinate with Sustainability on all health and safety items that impact environmental or social compliance.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Risk Management, or related field preferred; Master’s degree a plus
• At least 8 years of Health & Safety related experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Experience with office and facility Health & Safety is a plus
• Experience and knowledge of OSHA/leading Health & Safety regulations is required
• Familiarity with Health & Safety Managements System standards, including ISO standards, is required
• Understanding of model Health & Safety programs and able to benchmark company Health & Safety with industry best practice
• Ability to articulate Health & Safety in terms of risk, and understand where risk warrants inclusion in business continuity planning
• Ability to recommend job functions in company that must incorporate Health & Safety, and to introduce accountability and feedback mechanisms throughout company operations
• Excellent communication skills, including developing action plans for injury prevention programs/measures
• Strong communication, engagement and influencing skills. Work effectively with department managers, supervisors and employees in
