The iFlex RN is part of Intermountain’s internal travel agency for assignments. This is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care of patients. This RN utilizes the nursing process by use of technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice and coordination of care with other health team members. Our iFlex RNs are expected to float if not needed at assigned facility.

Our iFlex Internal Travel Agency is hiring for a Registered Nurse role Utah Valley Hospital in Provo, Utah. Utah Valley is a designated Level II Trauma Center and the only such facility between the Salt Lake Valley and St. George. Located in the heart of Utah County, the hospital is licensed for 395 beds and features a 46-bed emergency department.

It is home to Life Flight crews 24/7, the county’s only medical hyperbaric chambers, and a highly regarded Stroke Center of Excellence. More than 4,400 babies are born here each year, with a renowned Newborn ICU providing advanced neonatology care across central and southern Utah.

About the iFlex RN Role:


As an iFlex RN in the NICU, you will be part of Intermountain Health’s internal travel agency, offering specialized support across multiple sites, with your primary location at Utah Valley Hospital. This role requires adaptability, expert clinical skills, and a commitment to excellence in patient care. You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for neonatal patients while collaborating closely with a dedicated interdisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality, patient-centered care in the NICU
  • Assess and monitor the physical and developmental status of neonatal patients
  • Develop individualized care plans in collaboration with families and care teams
  • Deliver interventions based on clinical judgment, protocols, and patient needs
  • Educate and prepare families for discharge and post-hospital care
  • Maintain documentation in compliance with legal, ethical, and regulatory standards
     

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2 years of recent NICU nursing experience
  • Current RN license in the state of Utah
  • Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Competitive pay in line with local and national travel RN rates
  • Pay rates are reviewed quarterly and adjusted based on market trends; each assignment will have a consistent pay rate
  • For assignments more than 50 miles from the employee's home, pro-rated monthly housing reimbursement will be provided
  • Employees are responsible for securing their own housing during each travel assignment

Posting Specifics

  • Shift Details: Variable shifts
  • Schedule: Full-time hours during a 3-month assignment; 2–3 assignments per calendar year required, based on organizational needs
  • Pay Rate: $68–$75/hour flat rate, based on location and specialty (adjusted quarterly)

 

Travel Requirements:

  • Expected to fill shifts at Utah Valley Hospital
  • Our iFlex RNs are expected to float if not needed at assigned facility
  • All iFlex employees will be expected to travel and be able to work at Intermountain sites

Physical Requirements:

Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.

Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.
