Assistant Operations Manager – Residential Plumbing

About the Role
We’re looking for a driven and detail-oriented Plumbing Assistant Operations Manager to join our San Antonio branch. In this role, you'll partner closely with the Operations Manager to keep our department running like a well-oiled machine. From auditing technician skills to supporting fleet management and customer satisfaction, you'll be the heartbeat of our plumbing operations. You’ll also help us build future leaders by coaching, onboarding, and supporting the development of our growing team. This position blends leadership, logistics, and people-first performance.

What You’ll Do

• Conduct audits on plumbing technician skills, schedules, and performance to ensure quality and efficiency
• Support profit planning and operational reporting by tracking costs and recommending improvements
• Manage technician timesheets and process payroll accurately and on time
• Oversee truck stock and warehouse inventory to keep operations flowing
• Communicate with sales teams to support alignment and improve service performance
• Promote and enforce safety compliance and company standards
• Lead or assist in onboarding, training, and mentoring of field and operations staff
• Participate in strategic projects that enhance operational effectiveness
• Assist with customer complaint resolution and drive initiatives to improve satisfaction
• Support brand engagement efforts and represent Goettl in the San Antonio community

What You Bring

• Minimum of 5 years of trade experience (plumbing or related field)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proven leadership abilities and experience developing others
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office
• Experience with phone-based customer service and scheduling
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work under pressure
• Experience in public speaking or group training
• Analytical mindset and attention to detail
• Valid driver’s license and a clean motor vehicle record
• Ability to pass a background and drug screen upon offer

Preferred but Not Required:

• Experience using ServiceTitan or similar field service software
• Multilingual communication skills
• Background in business ownership or management
• Training program development experience
