Dow has an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Change Management Practice Owner located in Midland, MI or Houston, TX! The role will align to Dow's Design Your Day approach and allows employees flexibility by choosing when to work remotely and when to attend on-site activities based on project work and role needs.

About you and this role

As the Change Management Practice Owner, you will lead and oversee all aspects of change management disciplines within the IT organization and across the enterprise where Digital Transformation is concerned. Your primary responsibility will be to develop, implement, and continuously improve change management strategies, processes, and methodologies to ensure successful adoption of organizational changes. You will work closely with the change and communications IT operations team, senior leadership, project managers, and key partners and stakeholders across various departments to drive effective change initiatives and cultivate a culture that embraces change. 

Responsibilities

  • Strategy Development: Develops and refines change management strategies aligned with organizational goals and objectives. Identifies opportunities for improvement and innovation in change management practices.
  • Process Implementation: Designs and implements change management processes and methodologies to facilitate smooth transitions during organizational changes, including technology implementations, process improvements, and organizational restructuring. 
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engages, coaches, and collaborates with their IT change and communications operations team, senior leadership, project managers, and key partners and stakeholders to gain buy-in and support for change initiatives. Communicates effectively to ensure stakeholders understand the purpose, impact, and benefits of proposed changes. 
  • Change Readiness Assessment: Conducts and coaches others on change impact assessments to evaluate the readiness of the organization and individuals affected by proposed changes. Identifies potential risks and barriers to change adoption and develop mitigation strategies. 
  • Communication and Training: Develops and coaches on communication plans and materials to keep stakeholders informed and engaged throughout the change process. Coordinates training and development initiatives to equip employees with the skills and knowledge needed to adapt to changes effectively. 
  • Change Leadership: Provides coaching and guidance to the IT change and communications operations team, project teams, and change agents involved in implementing change initiatives across Dow. Launches and leads a community of practice to foster a culture of collaboration, resilience, and continuous learning to support successful change adoption. 
  • Performance Measurement: Defines key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the effectiveness of change management efforts. Monitors progress, gathers feedback, and makes data-driven recommendations for improvement. 
  • Continuous Improvement: Regularly assesses the effectiveness of change management practices and processes. Solicits feedback from stakeholders and project teams to identify areas for enhancement and implement continuous improvement initiatives. 

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, 12 years relevant experience, or relevant military experience at a U.S. E6 rank or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or higher.
  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant change management experience.
  • Certification in change management (e.g., Prosci, ACMP).
  • A minimum requirement for this US-based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Preferred Skills

  • A degree in business administration, organizational psychology, IT or a related field.
  • Experience successfully leading complex change initiatives within large organizations. 
  • Strong understanding of change management principles, methodologies
