Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
This position will support research focused on redesigning the gene gun to improve the biolistic delivery process for plant transformation. Responsibilities include synthesizing chemical reagents involved in the process, engineering new device components to enhance delivery efficacy, and optimizing the system from both an engineering and plant tissue culture perspective. The postdoc will contribute to both fundamental research and translational development.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
- Ph.D.
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience with biolistic delivery experiments
- Demonstrated expertise in gold particle synthesis and delivery agent formulation
- Demonstrated, in-depth understanding of gene gun operation and optimization
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship. Immigration sponsorship is not available for this position.
