Your Role:
EMD Electronics is looking for a dedicated Shift Lead to join our MEGASYS® team in Austin, TX. This role is crucial in overseeing the daily activities of technicians who work on systems that supply chemicals to semiconductor manufacturing environments, producing chips for electronic devices such as smartphones, LEDs, and flat-screen TVs. MEGASYS® is our branded service offering where EMD Electronics technicians and engineers provide on-site gas and chemical/slurry management on a contractual basis. Our personnel are assigned full-time, providing coverage ranging from 24/7 operations to periodic service calls. Responsibilities include maintaining, operating, and repairing gas distribution equipment, gas blending equipment, and life safety systems. The Shift Lead will ensure compliance with operational procedures, emergency preparedness, and drive flawless execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide daily direction to the team and oversee completion of tasks.
- Ensure seamless handoff of services during shift changes.
- Act as the main customer contact during shifts.
- Distribute and monitor workload among technicians on shift.
- Maintain company inspection reports for safety and quality.
- Audit operations and maintenance areas according to established quality and safety standards.
- Ensure adherence to processes and procedures.
- Immediately report quality and safety issues via the escalation process.
- Identify opportunities for improvement in quality control processes and safety measures.
- Ensure that operations execute tasks with a strong focus on safety and quality during each shift.
- Take ownership of NCE events and utilize the system to address operational concerns promptly.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to walk throughout the facility for 80% of the time (approximately 5-6 miles per day).
- Climb ladders up to 12 feet tall (using fall protection).
- Perform basic lifting (up to 40 lbs).
- Bend knees and reach overhead as needed.
- Recognize and respond to safety alarms effectively.
This is a 12 hour compressed shift (6am-6pm or 6pm-6am on a 3 month rotation)
Who You Are:
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1+ year of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Six Sigma techniques
- Strong organizational skills
- Experience in drafting repo
