SummaryWe are seeking a motivated Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Intern to join our team for the summer. This internship offers hands-on experience in workplace safety, compliance, and risk management. Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Physical Demands & Work Environment:- Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods. - Occasional lifting, carrying, and moving materials or equipment (up to ten pounds). - Frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, and climbing as needed for inspections or tasks. - Ability to work in various indoor and outdoor environments, sometimes in extreme weather conditions. - May require wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, gloves, safety glasses, and respirators. - Clear vision and hearing to identify potential hazards and ensure workplace safety. - Combination of office and fieldwork, depending on project needs. - Exposure to construction sites, industrial settings, or laboratory environments. - Potential exposure to dust, noise, chemicals, and varying temperatures. - May involve working at heights, confined spaces, or uneven terrain. - Collaborative team setting with interaction across multiple departments. - Adherence to strict safety protocols and company policies at all times.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in conducting workplace safety inspections and audits
- Support the implementation of OSHA regulations and company safety policies
- Help develop and update safety training materials and procedures
- Participate in incident investigations and risk assessments
- Monitor and maintain safety records and compliance documentation
- Assist in conducting safety meetings and training sessions
- Research and analyze health and safety trends and best practices
- Support the team in ensuring a safe and compliant work environment
- Follows safety procedures
- Other duties may be assigned
Preferred Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field
- Basic knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety principles
- Valid Florida Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record (in accordance with our Driver’s License and Motor Vehicle Record Check Criteria)
- Ability to pass a background check screening in accordance with Florida’s Jessica Lunsford Act (or equivalent state classification)
- Ability to read and write, including interpreting documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, as well as writing routine reports and correspondence and speaking effectively with co
