Limited Term Adjunct Instructor (Korean) (Multiple Positions)

The University of Arizona Language Training Center (LTC) invites applications for three part-time Limited Term Adjunct Instructor positions to teach short-term, intensive Korean language courses. These positions are funded by the Defense Language and National Security Education Office. The LTC offers language instruction, certification, and advanced training in multiple strategic languages.

Duties & Responsibilities- Prepare lesson plans and instruct sessions according to approved curriculum.
- Attend pre-course meetings with the Program Manager and/or Executive Director.
- Understand Defense Language Proficiency Test (DLPT) and Interagency Language Roundtable (ILR) score levels.
- Develop course curricula and lesson plans with authentic reading and listening materials.
- Build and update curriculum and course materials.
- Answer student emails and communicate regularly with students.
- Provide regular communication and feedback to students throughout the course.
- Submit lesson plans and course/teaching materials to the LTC Program Manager for the teaching materials archive.
- Communicate and/or meet with center directors, other instructors on the same teaching team, and LTC staff as needed.
- Provide feedback to the Program Manager and/or Executive Director on course(s) as needed.
- Perform additional duties as required by the supervisor.
- Master's degree in a related field.
- Native or near-native fluency in the Korean language.
- Experience teaching language courses.
- Terminal degree in Korean language pedagogy, second/foreign language education, applied linguistics, or another relevant field.
- Experience in curriculum development.
- Experience teaching beginner through advanced intensive language courses and demonstrated excellence in teaching.
