About the role

Description

Solterra Academy provides comprehensive special education for students aged 5 to 22 requiring intensive intervention due to severe emotional, behavioral, cognitive, developmental, and/or learning challenges. We believe in fostering an environment that is supportive, developmentally appropriate, and tailored to specific individual needs. Our dedication lies in the cooperative, self-motivated, adjusted, and academically accomplished development of each child.

We are looking for passionate individuals to join our team as Instructional Tutors. In this role, you will assist teachers and support staff in implementing academic, vocational, and behavioral programming in the classroom and surrounding school environment. Providing support for activities and transitions under the supervision of the teacher and administration, you will also implement behavioral interventions as needed.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 2:45 PM (In-Person)

Summer Hours: Monday to Friday 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM (In-Person)

Responsibilities

Provide active supervision and assist students within the classroom and throughout the school environment.
Assist students with academic tasks.
Implement Behavior Intervention Plans with assigned students.
Provide feedback to students in a therapeutic manner.
Collect data on student behaviors.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree Required
Previous experience working with children with severe behaviors is a plus
CPR certification required within 90 days of hire (training provided by Solterra Academy).
Certification in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention required with the first training course provided after hire date (training provided by Solterra Academy).
