Mailroom Driver

The Salvation Army Mission:

Status : Full Time -40hrs

Pay Rate : $18.00

 

Essential Functions: 

• Conduct mail runs at scheduled times throughout the week to the post office.
• Conduct inter-office package and mail pickup and delivery to various Salvation Army entities.
• Sort and distribute incoming and inter-office mail to individual departments and prepare outgoing mail and packages.
• Unload and load packages to SA vehicle.
• Stack items properly to cause the least amount of damage.
• Work with business, program and operations teams to assist with processing and delivering items in a proper amount of time.
• Ensure proper labeling and packaging for outgoing post.
• Maintain clean work and storage spaces.
• All other duties as assigned.

 

 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: 

 

Education: 

• High School Degree or currently pursuing.

 

Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to speak, write and understand English in a manner sufficient for effective communication with customers, management and coworkers.
• Good speaking, hearing and vision ability, and excellent manual dexterity.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
• Supervisory Responsibility: NONE

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: 

Must maintain a valid driver’s license and qualify to drive Salvation Army vehicles.

Physical requirements include: 

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; to reach with hands and arms. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally move and/or lift up to 100 pounds.   

 

Travel:  

Able and willing to travel to Center and Salvation Army properties as needed.          

 

Working Conditions:  

Multiplicity of environments including office, warehouse, and store. Temperature and humidity will vary, noise levels will range from quiet to moderately loud. Work hours are Monday – Friday 8:00AM4:30PM and occasional evenings and weekends per Center’s needs.
