Our work depends on a Software Developer Senior joining our team to support our customer activities in Washington, DC.  This position can be worked Remote. 

GDIT supports a system for HHS that collects data from a variety of sources.  Data is uploaded directly into the system or entered directly into custom forms.  This system also includes a complete case management system. We have hundreds of forms and dozens of data interfaces.   There is also a complete data analysis subsystem that is based on Tableau for producing reports and doing analysis of the data.  

At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Software Developer Senior supporting our Customer, you will be trusted to work on Java software development using the Spring Framework.  In this role, a typical day will include:

• Performs software development for client/server Java applications programs.
• Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
• Generates new code and corrects; converts; and/or modifies existing code to meet specifications.
• Participates in the design, coding, testing, and debugging of new software or enhancing existing software.
• Troubleshoots problems and provides customer support for software operating system and application issues.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

• Bachelor Degree in software development or equivalent technical degree or equivalent experience
• 5 yrs. of experience with strong emphasis on development
• Experience with Java 11 or above
• Experience in web development frameworks like Spring Framework 4/5, Spring MVC, Spring Security
• Proficient in ORM implementation (eg. Hibernate 4/5)
• Understanding and experience with different components like service layer, Data Access Layer and transaction management
• 3 yrs. Of experience in UI development; including JSP, JavaScript and CSS
• Demonstrated professional experience designing & working with relational databases (eg. Oracle).
• Familiarity with build and deployment (eg. Maven)
• Knowledge of the Best Practices of software development and Coding standards.
• Troubleshoots problems and provides customer support for application issues.
• Strong interpersonal presentation and communication skills.

Additional Desired Skills:

• Demonstrated professional experience building web application in backend Javascripts environments like Node.js, React
• Demonstrated professional experience building mobile applications; for iOS and Android.
• Demonstrated professional experience creating HTML5 user interfaces utilizing frameworks such as JQuery & Bootstrap.
• Demonstrated professional experience building RESTful Web Service APIs
• Understanding of accessibility standard, 508 standard etc...
• Familiarity with source control tools.
• Familiarity with the customer's cloud infrastructure.
• Experience with Accessibility Standards and Tools to ensure the software is compliant with the customer's accessibility standards.

The likely salary range for this position is $97,750 - $132,250. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
