Summary
Educate, train and monitor USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) participants. Conducts monitoring visits to providers to explain the program and its requirements.Job Description
Enrolls providers and completes ongoing program support. Monitors each home throughout the program year to review standards, meal service, daily records and address program concerns. Reviews and processes attendance forms and claims for reimbursement. The Food Program Educator provides technical support to participating child care providers of CACFP policies and regulations. Reviews menus and provides nutritional suggestions and revisions. Assists in planning and carrying out annual meetings for providers. Serves as a resource and referral for provider questions. Keeps provider files current with all required documentation. Shows initiative, supports efforts of co-workers and functions as a member of a team. Maintains confidentiality. Requires travel in a multiple
county area. Knowledge of Child and Adult Care Food program (CACFP) and applicable state licensing regulations for Family Day Care Homes and Group Family Day Care Homes desirable. Observation and assessment skills, organizational and interpersonal skills. Ability to plan and manage with little supervision. Excellent communication skills both oral and written. Good mathematical skills for claims processing with a keen attention to details. Must be proficient in a variety of office equipment and computer applications. Must be able to work with growing needs of unique client populations.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required. Area of focus in Social Work, Home Economics, Human Services, Early Childhood, Family Relations or related field preferred. In lieu of degree, leadership may consider six years equivalent work experience.Experience in a registered Family Daycare home or licensed Center is desirable.
Valid driver’s license required. Must maintain good driving record.
