WHAT YOU GET TO DO (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

  •  Design, build, and maintain scalable, secure, and reliable data pipelines that ingest, transform, and curate data from multiple enterprise sources.
  • Configure, manage, and optimize cloud data platform services, including Azure and Databricks, to support enterprise ingestion, transformation, analytics, and AI-ready datasets.
  •  Apply a structured, layered data architecture approach from raw ingestion through curated and analytics ready datasets.
  • Optimize data workflows for performance, reliability, cost efficiency, and maintainability.
  • Collaborate with analytics engineers, data scientists, and analysts to deliver trusted datasets for reporting, dashboards, and advanced analytics.
  • Embed data quality, testing, monitoring, security, and governance controls into data engineering workflows.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex data pipeline, performance, and reliability issues, including issues across Azure, Microsoft Power BI and Databricks environments.
  • Act as the technical owner for data engineering architecture decisions, balancing scalability, reliability, cost, and long‑term maintainability.
  • Contribute to enterprise data standards, patterns, and best practices.
  •  Mentor and provide technical guidance to Data Engineers and analytics team members.
  • Partner with IT, security, and business stakeholders to ensure data solutions align with enterprise policies and priorities.

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU:

  •  A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education, training,   and  experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  •  7–9 years of progressive experience in data engineering or related technical roles.
  •  Professional certifications are a plus (e.g. Databrick Certified Data Engineer, Azure Administrators AZ-104, Power BI Data Analyst Associate).
  •  Strong proficiency in SQL and Python.
  •  Proven experience configuring, managing, and operating Azure data services and Azure Databricks in production environments, including cluster policies, security/access controls, CI/CD integration, and cost optimization.
  •  Experience designing and operating data pipelines and data models at scale.
  •  Familiarity with modern cloud data platforms and data warehousing technologies.
  •  Experience with data integration, orchestration, and automation tools.
  • Working knowledge of data governance, security, and data quality practices.
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts to business stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and prioritization skills.
  • Less than 10% travel may be required.
  • A valid driver’s license may be required. Individuals in this role may be subject to an annual Motor Vehicle Records check. The outcome of any MVR checks conducted may negatively impact the persons’ ability to participate in any vehicle program provided by the company, including but not limited to the ability to drive a personal vehicle on behalf of The Boldt Company or rent a vehicle through for business travel purposes.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to remain in a stationary position for up to eight hours. The employee occasionally is required to move to access people or workspaces. Constantly operates a computer and other office equipment, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer. The ability to effectively communicate is required. The employee may occasionally move up to 15 pounds. 

The working conditions of this position require the employee to work inside an office environment. The environment for which this position functions may contain scents and fragrances. May be requested to work overtime and on weekends.
