The Opportunity:
This is not a passive delivery role. We are seeking a Scrum Master who also acts as a delivery advisor—someone who facilitates execution, removes blockers, and challenges clients when necessary, professionally and constructively.
You’ll work across cross-functional teams of data scientists, data engineers, and software developers to deliver modern analytics, forecasting tools, AI-driven workflows, and more. You’ll play a key role in translating business goals into scalable outcomes in energy and utility domains, such as grid modernization, outage prediction, demand forecasting, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Agile Facilitation & Delivery
- Lead Agile ceremonies (planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, reviews) across 1–2 concurrent workstreams.
- Support backlog grooming, sprint planning, and estimation processes in partnership with product owners and tech leads.
- Maintain delivery momentum while protecting team focus and preventing scope creep.
Client Advisory & Consulting
- Operate as a thought partner to clients, helping them understand Agile roles, prioritize high-value work, and adapt to change.
- Serve as a communication bridge between business and technical stakeholders.
- Guide client stakeholders on delivery governance, roadmap planning, and Agile maturity.
Team Leadership
- Promote a culture of psychological safety, continuous learning, and high accountability.
- Help unblock delivery risks early—whether technical, interpersonal, or organizational.
- Coach junior team members and client contributors on Agile best practices.
Sector-Specific Awareness
- Understand the regulatory, operational, and data complexity within the energy/utility sector.
- Apply Agile delivery within contexts like decarbonization initiatives, DER integration, electrification planning, and customer experience improvements.
Qualifications:
Required
- 5–8 years of experience in Agile delivery, with 3+ years as a Scrum Master in data, AI, or software projects.
- Proven ability to manage cross-functional technical teams (data science, engineering, software).
- Experience in a professional services or consulting environment, working directly with clients.
- Strong interpersonal skills: assertive, diplomatic, organized, and outcome-driven.
- Proficient in tools such as DevOps, or similar platforms.
Preferred
- Familiarity with the energy/utilities industry or regulated sectors.
- Experience in programs involving AMI data, forecasting, reliability analytics, or DER enablement.
- Agile certifications (CSM, SAFe, PSM) and/or consulting credentials (PMP Agile, delivery excellence frameworks).
What Success Looks Like
- You’re not just facilitating—you’re advising and shaping delivery strategy.
- Your teams are unblocked, productive, and focused on business value.
- You build trust with technical and business stakeholders alike, balancing execution and empathy.
- You elevate delivery rigor while keeping the client’s strategic goals front and center.
