Summer, Marketing Assistant, Dining Services, Part-time

Overview

This person will work directly with Dining Service office personnel to provide department and office support.

 

The position offers a flexible schedule, available Monday through Thursday from 8 AM to 4 PM and Friday from 8 AM to 1 PM, with a commitment of 15–18 hours per week, not exceeding 25 hours per week.

 

Qualifications

EDUCATION

• High School Diploma or GED. Preferred

EXPERIENCE

• Experience with software programs such as: Publisher, Office, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook/Mail. Required
• Working knowledge and ability to create on social media platforms such as Instagram and Facebook. Required

ABILITIES AND SKILLS

• Familiarity with dining plans and dining room facilities. Preferred
• Ability to work effectively with co-workers and customers. Required
• Ability to multitask and perform simple tasks, following written and verbal instructions. Required
• Detail oriented and able to work on own initiative. Required
• Strong organizational and time management skills. Required
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations. Required
• Neat and clean grooming and hygiene habits. Required
• Must present a positive image while representing Dining Services. Required
• Must follow all workplace safety procedures. Required

 

Responsibilities

Distribute dining service material to the various dining units.

Assist office staff with basic office administrative tasks such as filing, copying, answering phone, printing GNG labels, etc.

Provide guidance to visitors during summer events.

Aid in the preparation, scheduling, and distribution of social media and marketing materials.

Assist with any special projects, as assigned by supervisor.

Physical Standards and Special Job Features

• Lifting not to exceed 40 lbs.
• Occasional lifting not to exceed 75 lbs. when done with assistance.
• Pushing and pulling of carts not to exceed 200 lbs. when fully loaded.
• Standing/walking for long periods of time.
• May require frequent moving around to events across campus.

Pay Transparency

$15.15 per hour.
