About the role

ROLE: In this role, the Lynden Door Accounting Associate will take charge of processing invoices received for payment and ensuring accurate and timely payments to our creditors.

HOURS: Monday-Friday, 8:00-5:00, Full-Time, In-Office

Hourly Wage: $22.00 - $28.00 DOE

In office full time: Lynden, WA 98264

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Code invoices, vouchers, expense reports, check requests, and other financial documents with precision, adhering to standard procedures and utilizing correct codes for seamless entry into the financial system.
  • Manage all vendor correspondence promptly and professionally, utilizing effective communication via phone or email channels.
  • Attach purchase orders and all necessary supporting documentation to incoming invoices, guaranteeing complete and accurate documentation.
  • Investigate and resolve any challenges that arise during invoice and purchase order processing, employing problem-solving skills to ensure timely resolutions.
  • Execute batch check runs, wire transfers, and ACH transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established protocols.
  • Provide valuable assistance in preparing monthly status reports and contributing to the monthly closing process.
  • Reconcile various accounts, meticulously identifying posting errors or omissions by applying appropriate accounting standards.
  • Process remittance information from checks, drafts, and wire transfers received from vendors, diligently reviewing accompanying instructions to determine proper account disposition and crediting in accordance with standard procedures.
  • Receive, research, and effectively resolve routine internal and external inquiries related to account status, promptly communicating the resolution of discrepancies to the appropriate parties.
  • Maintain comprehensive and organized accounting documents, records, and reports, ensuring easy accessibility for reference and review.
  • Facilitate the smooth transfer of mail between intercompany locations, contributing to efficient communication and collaboration.
  • Perform additional duties as required to provide comprehensive support to the Accounting Department, including responsibilities related to cash receipts, AR posting, and reporting.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills; must be detail oriented
  • Ability to follow up on pending issues
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Adaptive and willingness to learn new processes
  • Ability to work well in teams

EXPERIENCE:

  • 3 years in an accounts payable or other accounting role

REPORTING: Controller – Lynden Door
