Who We’re Looking For

The IT Operations Engineer will support several aspects of day to day operations at Discogs. The position provides administration of our workstation fleet in partnership with our helpdesk MSP. Other areas of responsibility include user training, and maintenance of our company GSuite account. The IT Operations Engineer will work with the Senior Engineering Manager, Shared Services on the information security process at Discogs as well as data privacy.

What You’ll Accomplish

• Provide Mac workstation support.
• Respond to support tickets on various departmental IT subjects.
• SupportHelp oversee workstation procurement.
• Help manage relationships with various vendors and helpdesk MSP.
• Assist in administering cloud hosted JAMF Pro.
• Conduct internal user training.
• Automate security updates and package installations.
• Manage processes for onboarding/offboarding users.
• Administer company Google GSuite account and related services.
• Maintain a centralized password management system.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Information Security Responsibilities
  • Aid in identifying vulnerabilities to our workstation fleet.
  • Monitoring fleet usage to ensure compliance with security policies.
  • Keeping up to date with developments in IT security standards and threats.
  • Collaborating with Engineering Management and team to improve security.
  • Documenting any security breaches and assessing their damage.
  • Best practices for information security.

Requirements

What You’ll Contribute

Minimum Experience and Education

• 3+ years related work experience.
• Possess knowledge of the functions, operation, and mission of the business.
• Experience with Information Security duties.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
• Ability to establish, monitor, measure, and report on performance data that includes financial and activity reports, goal achievement, and overall effectiveness of your specialization.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Automation:
  • Experience working with CI/CD and gitops workflows
  • Familiarity and some proficiency with BASH/Python/etc. scripting
• Helpdesk
  • JAMF administration
  • Email configuration and flow
  • Mac OS administration
