Police Logistics CoordinatorAs a Police Logistics Coordinator, you will support law enforcement operations at both Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) and Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD). You will coordinate and execute logistics functions that ensure officers and specialized units are properly equipped, uniformed, and operationally ready.
This position oversees the planning, procurement, storage, inventory control, issuance, tracking, maintenance coordination, and lifecycle management of uniforms, duty gear, personal protective equipment (PPE), training equipment, fleet-related supplies, and other mission-essential materials.
The Logistics Coordinator performs administrative and operational support functions critical to maintaining readiness, accountability, and compliance with Airports Authority policies and applicable public safety standards.
Serves in the Police Department at Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA).
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinates the planning, procurement, storage, inventory, issuance, and replacement of police uniforms, duty equipment, personal protective equipment, training gear, and specialized operational equipment.
Serves as the liaison between the Public Safety Division Quartermaster and the Police Department, coordinating all uniform-related needs, addressing issues, and ensuring timely procurement, distribution, and accountability of uniform items.
Adheres to established inventory control and distribution procedures, maintaining accurate records and receipts to ensure accountability for issued equipment. Conducts and supports annual inventory processes and audits to maintain 100% property accountability.
Maintains inventory control systems for all department-issued property, including tracking serial numbers, barcodes, warranty information, inspection cycles, and replacement schedules.
Assists with budget preparation for police supplies and equipment; develops cost estimates; monitors expenditures; identifies cost-saving measures and efficiencies.
Coordinates or assists in the development and administration of logistics-related contracts, including uniform vendors, equipment suppliers, and maintenance providers.
Develops and maintains equipment specifications and inspection schedules for duty gear, ballistic vests, helmets, shields, specialty team equipment, and other issued items.
Drafts and updates logistics-related policies and procedures, including property issuance, accountability, inventory control, and asset tracking.
Communicates and meets with vendors to obtain quotes, process orders, coordinate deliveries, and resolve discrepancies or warranty issues.
Coordinates maintenance and repair programs for equipment such as less-lethal devices, training aids, specialized response equipment, and other department-issued property.
Prepares reports and presentations related to logistics operations, inventory status, budget tracking, and procurement planning.
Coordinates the work of personnel assigned to assist with logistics functions, including inventory audits, uniform issue, and equipment distribution.
Maintains accurate, auditable records related to purchasing, asset management, inventory reconciliation, and property accountability.
Performs general administrative duties including preparing reports and correspondence, tracking expenses, processing purchase documentation, entering data into inventory systems, and conducting periodic audits.
Manages a corporate Purchasing Card in compliance with established Airports Authority guidelines and within approved budgetary limits.
Serves as a Contracting Officer’s Technical Representative (COTR) or in a supporting role to facilitate requisition, procurement, tracking, and delivery of police equipment and supplies. Operates public safety vehicles. Operates trucks, vans, and other department vehicles to transport uniforms, equipment, and supplies to substations, training facilities, and operational sites, both landside and air side.
The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a law enforcement environment.
