As an integral part of the program, the ISSO will work closely with other teams to address all security-related concerns, identify security gaps, and implement security measures. The successful candidate will be proactive and take ownership of the security function by implementing information security solutions that enhance our ability to protect our program's data and systems.

Responsibilities
- Plan, implement, upgrade, or monitor security measures for the protection of computer networks and information
- Ensure appropriate security controls are in place that will safeguard digital files and vital electronic infrastructure
- Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability scans of the project's internal and external networks, as well as web applications
- Provide security insight and guidance on the project including the development of new systems and infrastructure
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans
- Conduct regular security audits and assessments to identify potential violations of security protocols
- Act as the primary point of contact for all security incidents and coordinate with project leadership to oversee investigations to ensure rapid resolution
- Initiate and oversee all employee security awareness and training programs
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other comparable degree or other comparable degree or experience
- At least 5 years of experience in information security, focusing on supporting the security activities associated with evaluating, implementing, and managing security practices, and continued operations of new and existing technologies.
- Ability to implement, maintain, and update the FISMA Federal Security Framework
- Experience with cloud security solutions (AWS, Azure, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of security principles and technologies including network security, data encryption, firewalls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems
- Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills
