JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Practice Manager of Clinical Operations for Student Health and Wellness (SHaW) at UConn is responsible for the strategic direction, best practice, and oversight of the effective functioning and the business operations of the areas that they directly supervise, including the scheduling, registration, and check-in functions for SHaW clinical services, inventory and procurement functions, and facilities and vehicle management to support clinical services. The Senior Practice Manager oversees the administrative and business operations, including hiring and training employees, ensuring compliance with regulations, quality control, and healthcare reporting, and managing inventory. The Senior Practice Manager applies a high degree of expertise and specialized knowledge related to customer service, front desk operations, data abstraction for reporting and analysis, and facilities and budget management. This position will also provide support for creating seamless operations with the SHaW regional campus functions. This position will create and implement SHaW policies and procedures to reflect national and state rules and regulations to ensure consistency and compliance with governmental and other regulatory guidelines throughout SHaW. This position reports to the Director of SHaW Fiscal and Business Operations. To be effective, this position works in collaboration with leaders and staff throughout SHaW and the University.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensures consistency and adherence to operational guidelines and develops strategies and goals to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness throughout all SHaW cost centers.
- Manages the financial and daily operations of medical and mental health clinical front desk functions, including scheduling appointments, insurance verification, registration, and check in functions.
- Provides strategic and operational leadership for SHaW building maintenance and management, including housekeeping, general maintenance, SHaW’s facility advocacy program, building access management, and physical security.
- Oversees the scheduling, maintenance, and management of the SHaW vans, working in partnership with the SHaW Regional Campus Operations Director for the operationalization of the Wellness in Motion van.
- Fosters a culture of teamwork across all staff.
- Oversees implementation of SHaW building renovations and small project constructions on all five campuses. Prioritizes projects and resources to ensure that requested project activities are properly accomplished in an economical and timely manner.
- Contributes to the development, testing, and implementation of SHaW emergency operational plans.
- Supports the vision and advancement of a SHaW one-building strategy, contributing to the research, planning, and development of a comprehensive building plan.
- Oversees inventory management and procurement processes on all five campuses.
- Analyzes and prepares monthly productivity, quality, and financial data reports to drive business decisions, increase efficiency, and improve quality of care for students for all SHaW cost centers.
- Assesses SHaW patient satisfaction data to identify opportunities to improve the student/patient experience, health equity, and quality of care. Interacts with patients to address their complaints.
- Manages patient billing concerns, including implementing strategies for those who cannot afford to pay for services.
- Hires, trains, manages, and evaluates administrative staff, oversees staff to ensure coverage of services and supplies, provides site specific and overall training and cross-training for continuity of support, and ensures staff performance is compliant with university policies, healthcare regulations, and industry standards.
- Works with SHaW directors to create or update policies and procedures to ensure compliance with changing healthcare laws, health equity values, regulations, and industry standards.
- Works with clinicians to ensure all regulatory standards are met regarding patient care, safety standards, infection control, hazardous medical supplies handling, etc.
- All other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's degree with 10 years of related experience or bachelor's degree with 15 years of related experience or equivalent
