We have an exciting Scientist level opportunity for a biologist or pharmacologist with a range of experience in cell-based assay formats, specifically assays involving immune cells and the products of adaptive immunity, to join our Quantitative Biosciences team in West Point, PA. Working collaboratively with our local discovery teams and senior scientists in the department you will apply your skills in the design and execution of immunological assays, data analysis, laboratory automation and detection technologies such as high content imaging and flow cytometry to advance therapeutic programs in Infectious Diseases, Immunology and Neuroscience. In this role you will:
Develop assays to support therapeutic programs independently or in collaboration with senior scientists in the lab, execute assays at medium to high throughput, interpret and analyze the results of experiments, and successfully transfer assays onto automation platforms as needed.
Conduct molecular and/or cellular mechanism of action studies as needed to understand compound efficacy and specificity, as well as the downstream impact to biology.
Enact innovative approaches (including novel technologies) to solve program objectives and issues.
Meet project milestones and timelines.
Interpret data and communicate results to stakeholders and management.
Collaborate across our global Quantitative Biosciences and other partner networks to develop capabilities, advance therapeutic programs and grow our scientific capital.
Take on increasing responsibility within the Quantitative Biosciences group and on project teams as your skills develop.
Properly document protocols and results and comply with all laboratory safety and environmental requirements.
What you will need:
A degree in Immunology, or a degree in Pharmacology, Biology, Biochemistry or a related Bioscience discipline including coursework focused on Immunology, with either 3+ years’ experience for a BS degree, or 0+ years’ experience for an MS degree (with expected graduation by January 2025), preferably in a drug discovery setting.
One or more years of experience implementing and interpreting immunoassays involving blood and primary cell culture, flow cytometry, qPCR, ELISA, and major platforms such as Meso Scale Discovery and Luminex.
An ability to propose new, innovative approaches and experimental designs as needed.
Experience with medium to high throughput assay-related data analysis and an appreciation for the related quantitative and statistical concepts.
A flexible and collaborative approach to working across teams, projects and departments.
Effective written and oral communication skills.
The ability to adapt to changing priorities.
