As a Bending Team Lead, you will be critical to the management of the process. The Team Lead is a working member of the team. This Position leads and supports a team of 5 to 10 people. The role of the team lead is to help team members be successful at meeting safety requirements, quality levels, tact time requirements and performance goals.

This is a Weekend Day shift (Friday-Sunday 6am-6pm) position starting at $24.83/hour + $1.00 shift differential.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Helping train new Team Members with on the job training

  • Filling in for absent Team Members or other Team Leads

  • Responding to Andons

  • Help resolve issues related to safety, quality, velocity and cost. This can range from material shortages to tooling problems.

  • Participating on continuous improvement teams including MQ 12005 certification teams

  • Collecting data and updating metric boards as needed

  • Conducting Performance Improvement Dialogues at the cell level

  • Helping create and update Standard Work

  • Monitoring the process to make sure that standard work is being followed

  • Team Leads must arrive prior to shift start. 

  • They must understand the overall flow of the line and the technical aspects of the component for features generated in area of responsibility.  

  • They are also required to understand the technical aspects of the processes and flow for area assigned.

  • They must be capable of adjusting line staffing to meet flow requirements and supporting the section’s production plan. 

  • They translate the direction set by the Section Manager to task assignments for each Team Member in the given area to meet the section’s plan/requirements.

  • They must be both a practitioner and teacher of fundamental CPS principles and committed to their successful implementation.  They are responsible for continually looking for and identifying WASTE.

  • They must be able to handle the pressure of production requirements while maintaining a positive working relationship with the Team Members on the line, as well as with their peers, and their managers. (Drive performance without damaging line morale)

  • Team Leads must be able to communicate effectively with all those in need of information, including Team Members, management, maintenance, quality groups, etc. They are required to report out on the area’s status relative to plan.

  • They must identify safety, personnel, quality, and production issues and bring them to the immediate attention of the section manager to minimize the given problem’s impact on their area of responsibility and potentially the section as a whole.

  • Work closely with Autos and Auto Bends

  • Drive RCCA’s

Basic Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office software applications, and MAPICS ERP software

  • Previous supervisory experience

  • Ability to work independently and, equally well, in a team environment

  • Good organizational and problem solving skills

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to promote a team atmosphere

  • Willing to attend all internal and external training

  • Must possess the ability to develop personnel to support present and future operations.

  • Expertise in one or more jobs with the area and have Mechanical skills.
