Finance Manager - WPM Technical Services & Sustainable Operations – JLL

Location: Chicago, IL

What this job involves:

Join JLL's Workplace Management (WPM) division as a Finance Manager partnering with the Technical Services and Sustainable Operations business, where you will play a pivotal role in driving financial excellence across the organization. This position combines strategic financial leadership with hands-on management, serving as the critical financial liaison between business leadership and corporate teams. You will oversee essential accounting functions including revenue recognition, forecasting, and financial planning while providing strategic insights that directly influence business decisions. Your expertise will help shape JLL's continued growth as we deliver innovative workplace solutions to clients worldwide, making this an exceptional opportunity for a finance professional ready to make meaningful impact in a dynamic, global environment.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Manage the end-to-end revenue recognition process, ensuring full compliance with contract terms and accounting standards while partnering with business and sales teams to forecast revenue on a monthly basis
  • Produce comprehensive monthly and quarterly financial variance reports, analyzing performance against forecasts and budgets to identify key trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement
  • Coordinate preparation and delivery of accurate monthly financial statement packages and dashboard reporting for client groups and corporate leadership, maintaining data integrity and meeting tight deadlines
  • Support annual planning and monthly forecasting processes by providing financial insights, scenario analysis, and strategic recommendations to drive informed business decisions and optimal resource allocation
  • Cultivate strategic relationships with partners across diverse business subsegments, delivering expert financial guidance and serving as a trusted advisor on commercial matters
  • Oversee accounts receivable management including maintenance and research of AR aging over 30 days past due, implementing collection strategies to optimize cash flow and reduce DSO
  • Leverage business intelligence tools and emerging AI technologies to enhance financial processes, automate routine tasks, and deliver more impactful analysis to stakeholders

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
  • 4+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience with demonstrated financial analysis and modeling capabilities
  • 1-2 years of leadership experience, including managing direct reports or leading cross-functional projects
  • Proven ability to manage financial operations across global markets and work effectively with international teams across multiple time zones
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate financial data into strategic business insights and recommendations
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems, with demonstrated experience implementing technology solutions to improve efficiency
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly to both financial and non-financial stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA, CMA, or MBA designation
  • Experience in commercial real estate, facilities management, or professional services industry
  • Familiarity with revenue recognition standards (ASC 606) and complex contract accounting
  • Experience with financial planning and analysis (FP&A) systems, business intelligence platforms (Power BI, Tableau), or ERP systems (Oracle, SAP)
  • Track record of process improvement initiatives and successful implementation of automation or AI tools in finance functions
  • Experience supporting Technical Services, Engineering, or Sustainability-focused business lines
  • Self-starter mentality with proven ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and drive projects to completion with minimal supervision
