About the role
We are seeking a Senior Tax Manager, reporting into the CFO, to manage third party provider(s) of Sales and Use Tax, Property Tax, and Direct Taxes. The Tax Manager will be responsible for the registration of business licenses with applicable states. They will also manage and assist third-party tax providers in preparing tax filings.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a Master’s degree or CPA certification is highly desirable.
- Several years of progressive experience in tax management, with demonstrated expertise in both federal and state tax regulations.
- Strong background in preparing, reviewing, and filing complex tax returns for corporations and individuals.
- Experience with tax planning, compliance, and audit support, ideally within a fast-paced and growth-oriented organization.
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage multiple priorities, and deliver on tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Comprehensive understanding of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations, with the ability to interpret complex statutes and apply them in practical, real-world scenarios.
- Advanced proficiency in tax research and analysis, utilizing authoritative resources to resolve intricate tax issues and provide strategic recommendations.
- Expertise in tax software, accounting systems, and data management tools to streamline tax processes and enhance accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and proven aptitude for identifying risks and opportunities in tax filings and planning strategies.
- Exceptional communication skills—both written and verbal—to effectively collaborate with internal teams, external auditors, and regulatory authorities.
- Ability to mentor, guide, and develop team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously, while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and compliance.
- High ethical standards and sound judgment in handling confidential financial information and facilitating transparent reporting practices.
