We are offering a unique opportunity for a talented and ambitious competition lawyer to work at the forefront of the most interesting and challenging competition matters. <br/>This position will report to the Legal Director, EU Competition Law and advise the business and senior leadership on strategic matters, be responsible for competition-related enforcement and regulatory matters across Europe, and help shape the company’s long-term strategy on highly relevant and novel issues.<br/><br/>Key job responsibilities<br/>• Drive competition and related regulatory matters across the EU and member states while partnering with local legal teams. <br/>• Advise the business and legal colleagues on competition-related matters across all Amazon businesses in Europe. <br/>• Help shape the company’s long term strategy on high impact and often novel issues. <br/>• Think Big and look around corners to spot issues and identify developments of relevance for the Amazon business. <br/>• Partner with our public policy team and engage with regulators and policy makers on a broad range of issues. <br/>• Contribute as a member of the EU Competition team to develop mechanisms for training, compliance, and cross-functional coordination.<br/><br/>The role location is Brussels, some travel will be required.<br/><br/>A day in the life<br/>You will be based in our Brussels office and serve as competition counsel for Amazon's consumer business across the EU. You will work with a team of high-performing, results-oriented lawyers and internal partners committed to serving our customers. Our lawyers work at the forefront of the most challenging competition matters, developing innovative solutions to novel legal questions.<br/>As competition counsel, you will drive enforcement and regulatory matters across Europe, advising senior leadership on strategic issues that shape the company's long-term direction. You will manage high-impact competition cases, partner with local legal teams across Member States, and provide guidance on competition-related matters affecting Amazon businesses in Europe.<br/>You will contribute to the EU Competition team's efforts to advance competition policy, develop training programs and compliance mechanisms, and drive effective cross-functional coordination. Your work requires excellent judgment, the ability to navigate ambiguity independently, and strong collaboration skills to build relationships with attorneys and internal stakeholders at all levels.
