Job Details

Cleveland Clinic Martin Health is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Hematology/Oncology team at the Martin North Robert and Carol Weissman Cancer Center. This advanced practice provider (APP) will play a key role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care across outpatient, inpatient, and infusion suite settings.

The APP will collaborate closely with physicians, nursing staff, and other multidisciplinary team members to manage patients with hematologic and oncologic conditions. Responsibilities include performing comprehensive assessments, developing and managing treatment plans, monitoring patients during therapy, and providing supportive care throughout the continuum of cancer treatment.

Work Schedule:

  • Typical hours: Monday through Friday, approximately 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

  • Periodic weekend coverage required

  • Call responsibilities include handling after-hours phone calls

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care in outpatient clinics, inpatient units, and the infusion suite

  • Conduct comprehensive health assessments and evaluations

  • Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic tests and procedures

  • Collaborate with physicians and oncology team members on care plans

  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and symptom management

  • Participate in weekend rotations and on-call responsibilities as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in hematology/oncology preferred, but not required

  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and clinical skills

Advanced Oncology Certification is expected within the first 2 years of hire and/or certification eligibility.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducts thorough medical histories, performs complete physical examinations (where indicated), initiates appropriate lab, radiology tests or other special tests required for evaluation of illness, and scrutinizes lab data on new and former clinic patients and hospital admissions to establish a record of the patient's current health status and to develop a working diagnosis and treatment plan.
  • Must be able to work with collaborating physician.
  • Performs and interprets, at least to the point of recognizing deviations from normal, common laboratory, radiologic, cardiographic and other routine diagnostic procedures used to identify pathophysiologic processes as privileged by CCF Credentialing Board.
  • Performs routine procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing and wound care, managing simple conditions
