Who we’re looking for
Toyota’s Production Department is looking for a passionate and highly-motivated Group Leader.
The primary responsibility of this role is to support production needs by developing team members and team leaders, lead team member skill enhancement activities, coordinate major breakdown investigation and reoccurrence prevention activity, monitor key performance indicators and initiate activity to accomplish department and company goals.
Reporting to the manager, the person in this role will support the objective to lead/manage team members.
**Shift - The shift for this position will be one of the PM shifts listed below:
Monday - Thursday (4 days X 10 hours) 8 pm to 6:30 am
Friday - Sunday (3 days X 12 hours) 6 pm to 6:30 am
What you’ll be doing
Manage a group of hourly team leaders and team members, providing direct communication and leadership to ensure a safe operating environment.
Demonstrate leadership skills to achieve/exceed all safety, quality, cost, and team member development objectives.
Provide/coordinate training and developmental opportunities, fostering a respect for people environment.
Utilize strong communication skills as the primary communication link between leadership and the production team. Collaboration with other areas and departments within Toyota, giving regular informal and formal updates to Toyota senior leadership.
Daily Management of an assigned area, including safety, quality, productivity, cost, and team member development.
Utilize problem solving skills to visualize and eliminate process bottlenecks, improve equipment/tooling, and team member ergonomics. Engage your team in systematic problem-solving activity and Quality Circles to resolve issues and develop your team’s capabilities.
Must be capable of utilizing engineering principles to resolve day-to-day concerns and be capable of understanding team member conceptual ideas and developing them into practical applications and solutions. Must possess a certain degree of creativity and have a strong mechanical ability/background.
Utilize project management and planning skills to translate the division annual business plan to daily activities for your team. <
