What is the Role

We’re looking for an energetic, creative, and strategic storyteller to lead our global social media strategy and corporate blog. This is a high-impact role for an experienced social and content strategist with proven expertise in multi-platform storytelling.

We’re looking for someone with the creative instinct to make content hit the mark. With your background in B2B tech and strong storytelling instincts, you understand the nuances of each platform and how to craft narratives that spark engagement with developers, analysts, and decision-makers. 

You go beyond vanity metrics to build real influence, driving awareness, credibility, and conversation across owned and earned social channels. And you’re energized by the opportunity to amplify our brand and subject matter experts, ensuring Elastic shows up with relevance, credibility, and influence and know what it takes to show up on AI-driven discovery platforms.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Own and evolve our global social media and blog strategy, from voice and tone to content pillars and publishing cadence.
  • Build integrated storytelling plans that support launches, campaigns, and tentpole moments across X (Twitter), LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, and emerging platforms.
  • Partner cross-functionally with the product teams, PR, brand, and executive comms to promote Elastic’s technical innovation into stories for all our audiences.
  • Track and report on performance metrics that reflect engagement, reach, and influence
  • Leverage performance insights to consistently optimize and uncover growth opportunities across social programs.
  • Lead a small team and one agency partner.
  • Stay ahead of trends to keep us relevant and bold in how we show up online.
  • Champion social media education among stakeholders by sharing social insights, trends, performance, and best practices to guide content decisions and set realistic expectations.
  • Built internal momentum for social by turning employees into advocates, encouraging authentic amplification of company milestones, launches, and culture moments.

What You Bring

  • 7+ years of experience in social media and content strategy gained in B2B tech.
  • Familiarity with social listening, influencer programs, and executive social media.
  • A strong portfolio of high-impact social campaigns and blog content, especially on technical or AI-related topics.
  • Experience managing creative and content teams.
  • Deep knowledge of algorithms, formats, and best practices on IG, TikTok, YouTube, and LinkedIn.
  • Deep understanding of social media trends, platform best practices, and audience engagement strategies.
  • Experience working with technical product teams or developer audiences, and translating that into clear, engaging storytelling.
  • Strategic mindset with a bias for action and experimentation.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and content development skills. Fluent English is required.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

Bonus Points

  • Experience in cybersecurity and AI
  • Background in journalism or editorial leadership

Compensation for this role is in the form of base salary.  This role does not have a variable compensation component.  

The typical starting salary range for new hires in this role is listed below.  In select locations (including Seattle WA, Los Angeles CA, the San Francisco Bay Area CA, and the New York City Metro Area), an alternate range may apply as specified below. 

These ranges represent the lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting.  We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the ranges may be modified in the future.  

An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
