JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Department of Ecosystem Science and Management is looking to hire an Administrative Assistant who will be responsible for budget, finance, and human resource functions of the Department of Ecosystem Science and Management. The successful candidate will serve as the lead assistant on all human resource functions, including:
Coordinate and serve as liaison with Human Resources on the processing of hiring requests for faculty, staff, visiting scholars, wage, and work-study staff.
Coordinate job posting, hiring, compensation changes, one-time payouts, labor distributions, reappointments, and any separation/termination of appointments
Coordinate and submit paperwork to Global Programs via iStart for J-1, H1-B, permanent residency visas, extensions, and visiting scholar paperwork.
In addition, the candidate will assist with budget and financial responsibilities that include travel reimbursements, purchasing card transactions, purchasing card maintenance, deposits, purchasing requests, and budgetary transactions to include reporting.
Education and Experience:
Requires a High School Diploma/GED or Vocational Training/Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. This position requires analytical thinking and problem-solving. The successful candidate must be detail-oriented with strong organizational and customer service skills.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:
$34,800.00 - $50,500.00Salary Structure - additional information on Penn State's job and salary structure.
