About the role

The Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Data Center Development team leads the design and delivery of the next generation of Oracle’s global data center portfolio. We are seeking a Senior Manager of Data Center Development to oversee the planning, design, and coordination of complex data center projects across our expanding global footprint.

This position bridges technical depth and leadership, requiring strong multidisciplinary understanding across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, architectural, and structural disciplines. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in mechanical and liquid cooling design, with the ability to guide engineering and architectural partners through highly technical discussions and ensure design intent aligns with OCI’s performance, reliability, and scalability standards.

As a Senior Manager, you will lead a small team of design managers, coordinate with internal stakeholders and external consultants, and provide technical oversight from concept through construction documentation. You will be instrumental in ensuring Oracle’s facilities meet the highest standards of innovation, efficiency, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations of the Oracle material delivery team, the 3PL and all associated processes in hyperscale data center builds.

  • Identify process gaps and build mechanisms to scale to optimize materials delivery efficiency.

  • Drive material delivery schedules from design to launch, communicate to stakeholders and senior leaders, interacting with cross functional teams, specifically Hardware Orders Management, LVMT, material delivery teams, 3PL and low voltage vendors.

  • Anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance the business needs versus material constraints.

  • Assist and communicate with executives in decision-making, program management, and initiative implementation.

  • Inventory Oversight: Ensure physical inventory audits, cycle counts, and reconciliations to ensure data accuracy occur consistently with both 3PL and low voltage vendors. Investigate and resolve discrepancies, providing root-cause analysis and recommendations for improvement.

  • Capacity Management: Ensure material space constraints both on site and at the offsite 3PL warehouse are addressed quickly.

  • Materials Delivery: Develop and control processes and procedures that ensure materials delivery from supplier, to 3PL, to site, occur efficiently and with accuracy. Develop and control processes related to defective or damaged materials and the RMA process with suppliers.

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement inventory control strategies to optimize stock levels, reduce waste, and align with data center operational needs.

  • Process Development: Drive the creation and enforcement of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and methods of procedure (MOPs) for inventory handling, storage, and tracking, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

  • Technology Optimization: Manage and utilize inventory systems to track stock levels, streamline processes, and ensure data accuracy. Support bulk uploads, integrations, and reporting initiatives. Drive automation implementations.

  • Reporting and Analysis: Generate and analyze inventory reports, providing insights and recommendations to leadership. Monitor and communicate key metrics.

Required Qualifications:

  • Professional licensure required, Registered Architect (RA) or Professional Engineer (PE).
  • Accredited degree in Architecture, Mechanical, Electrical, or Structural Engineering.
  • Strong preference for candidates with mechanical and liquid cooling design experience.
  • 8+ years of experience managing data center, mission-critical, or large-scale infrastructure design and development.
  • Proven experience managing multidisciplinary teams and external consultants.
  • Strong knowledge of data center MEP systems, architectural coordination, and structural integration.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with design and permitting workflows, and construction delivery processes.
  • Knowledge of data center design standards and industry codes (ASHRAE, NFPA, Uptime, IBC).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience leading design efforts for hyperscale or cloud infrastructure projects.
  • Working knowledge of Revit/BIM coordination and document management systems (e.g., Autodesk Construction Cloud, Newforma).
  • LEED AP, Uptime ATD, or similar certifications.
  • Experience managing global or multi-region project portfolios.
